Last spring, I started to become more familiar with the Pop-Christian music scene. I never thought I would enjoy this type of music so much. Not only is it refreshing, but it's a way to worship God. Last year, Mercy Me seemed to apply to my walk with God. Now that we've moved to West Michigan and have not attended church like we used to, I've found recent solitude in Kutless' new album. "Draw me close" seems to be the song that I can play over and over and over and over and, well you get the point. It helps me to stay grounded and realize that material things are not everything in life. The chorus sums it up well:
You're all I want,
You're all I've ever needed
You're all I want,
Help me know you are near
The peace of mind in knowing that the Lord is closer to you than He seems, and we can cast our cares to Him brings about a peace that cannot be found elsewhere. My prayer is that the chorus to this song is lived out in my daily life and I can get back on the path to Him through an awesome church that builds faith through Community.
What song(s)/group(s) inspire you in your thoughts and prayers?

ok, so I I have over a 100 artist's that I could pull some songs off of, but the song that always brings me back to reality is:
RUN by Kutless (2002 Album)
Why do you run, why do you hide oh, don't you know I
just, just wanna be with you, to be with you
Hey, why do you run, why do you hide oh, don't you know
I just, just wanna be with you, to be with you...
Whatever happened to the love, the love you had for me
When you first came to me
Don't you know that i died, died so i could be with you
forever
And i'm waiting for you
And i'm waiting for you
Beethoven's Ninth Symphony (Ode To Joy) brings me great inspiration and joy. When I listen to this I close my eyes and I am actually lifted to a higher place. This song motivates me to want to achieve more than I have and it moves me to tears. Ava is also quite fond of this piece by the Maestro. Overall, I would have to say that if I was stuck on a desert island I would choose to have the complete works of Beethoven with me.
It's amazing how much Christian music of all kinds can get into our spirit. How often they talk about feelings we as christians have on a daily basis but don't always know how to verbalize. A new song I have playing constantly in my head right now is by Plumb called "I Can't Do This"
The Chorus goes:
I can’t do this
I can’t do this
I can’t do this by myself
I can’t do this
I can’t do this
Oh God I need Your help
I feel this way most of the time and this song reminds me we really cannot do anything on our own, but "we can do all things through Christ Jesus."
Your blog is awesome and I check it everyday to see if you may have posted something new.
My favorite Christian song is very simple. "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" It does not matter who sings it, (even me)
We can do all things through Jesus He is coming soon.
